All students must know the dojo kun, these are principals of karate that participants must strive to achieve. We say the Dojo Kun at the end of each karate lesson. The basic philosophy of karate is outlined below according to its founder and Master Gichin Funakoshi. Master Funakoshi believed that, for the true karate-ka should extend their dojo training to everyday life.
